Although I own a lot of dresses this one has been receiving the most love since I purchased it. California and fall sometimes go together well, this year it has been so dry. It is November and we still have yet to have a rainy day. Ugh! I love fall so I feel a little cheated. Since this dress has about two inch straps it is perfect for this odd weather, however, it can be layered in multiple ways if it ever gets to fall weather here.
Since the first trailer came out for Ralph Breaks the Internet, I have been hooked and rather excited for it to come out in theaters. Still don’t have a costume picked out? Don’t worry, here is yet another easy diy costume to inspire you! For those lovelies out there who love to go under the sea. ha. For real though, Ariel is my favorite princess but often has a trashy looking halloween costume. This is why I decided to do a more modest version for ya’ll.
Since Halloween is on a Wednesday this post is focused on not only last minute ideas but also inspiration for work appropriate costumes. Suggestions on how to make costumes work appropriate are also included for the not so typical options. I did flat lay photos as each costume’s makeup depends on how strict your dress code is at work.
EEEP! Today I have exciting news, the first official Halloween costume of the season in a d.i.y. To make things easier your girl made a youtube video to guide you step by step to making this sassy beast costume. This was actually my costume last year for Halloween, however, with the Meg movie that came out this year plus sharks being my favorite animal I could not resist sharing it.
Searching for the perfect pumpkin is the first step. Last week when I roamed the rows of a pumpkin patch farm searching well, mostly low for the right shape and colored pumpkin, I thought painting real pumpkins would be cake. Alright so this pumpkin is a bit slick nothing a couple of coats of paint cannot handle… wrong. This pumpkin experience was a nightmare.
If only the weather were actually cold and not in the high 80’s this jacket would be my daily, however, it is more of a nightly? ha. This red lil sassy jacket is by the brand KUT from the Kloth. It mocks the feel of suede but is vegan obviously. Let me just stop for a second to say it has REAL pockets. Yes, ladies real phone holding pockets that zip. I hate mock pockets, they are such a tease.
Above are the oldest boots in my collection, at about four years old. These tend to get a lot of love during the fall season, however, Carlos Santana boots do not wear out easily. Knee high boots are definitely a staple for fall, I recommend a semi loose classic brown or black color. The buckles on the side provide a unique touch making them give off a cowboy boot vibe.
