Etsy Photo Error Fix & Opening a Shop

When it comes to the question what is my dream job it has always encompassed two things, fashion and creating which is why I finally took the plunge and opened up an Esty shop!!! No, I am not hoping for overnight success but the ultimate goal is earning enough to support myself and my family one day. I like the freedom creating gives me and to be honest I’ve always fancied what goes on the item rather than making the actual item from 100% scratch. It’s an amazing feeling knowing that someone is enjoying and creating memories in something you designed.

Fix Bobbin Errors on Brother PE550d

Throughout my embroidery journey there has been many struggles, some I have shared others I have not, simply due to if I have found a solution or not. No, this is not a post ranting about the machine however, I must state that the customer service for Brother has not made a good impression thus far. When I first started having issues with my bobbin thread showing up on the top side I read the manual for quick fixes and then reached out to their service department with a photo and description of the issue. All I was given was links to their FAQ section. After three attempts to get a real solution I was then directed to find a service department to take the machine in to be properly looked at. FRUSTRATING.

Embroidery Files 101

Prior to purchasing an embroidery machine for the first time I had little knowledge as to how it worked including the file capability side. All I kept reading is that it was a learning curve which is why I have been and will continue to update you all as I learn more about the machine embroidery world. Hopefully you are learning from my mistakes or basking in the humorous side of all my mistakes and frustrations, either way here we go again.

Finding Relaxation During Lockdown

While the world seemed to be on the edge of coming around to somewhat of a new “normal” the brakes have screeched yet again. Could it be time to accept that this is the norm now, wearing masks and getting dirty looks whenever choking in public? Please tell me I’m not the only one who has noticed this happening or had it happen to yourself. Needless to say the stressful times are far from over.

Face Masks | Info & Tutorials

It’s an usual post day, however, I am feeling a bit fuzzy about what to post these days. To be honest my schedule has shifted a lot and I’m sure many of yours has as well. I never thought my work would be considered essential but yes I have been working throughout all the craziness. Man oh 0man do I have stories for you guys… perhaps once the dust settles I will post a video of all the things that have happened lately while at work. Let me know in the comments if you are interested in some work stories from this pandemic season.

Anyway, I wanted to share with you all about mask making because I am now wearing masks daily to work as rules and regulations require it. As regulatons keep evolving in some places you might have to wear a mask so here are some tips on how to equip yourself. Before diving in, a quick disclaimer, I am not a doctor just a fellow fashionista.

What materials are good for mask making?

Mental Test Log| Set Yourself Up for Success

This week I wanted to test myself mentally and I encourage you to do the same if you have been in a slump as well. There is no right or wrong way to do this either, so tweak it as much as you need to. My test was to set two goals and see how I would respond to them knowing that I was making myself accountable by thus throwing the data on the internet. If this is too drastic tell a friend daily or have a weekly log in instead. This is to motivate you as well as myself. I also have provided some resources to check out if your goals are similar to mine.

How to: Clean White Shoes

Spring is coming, which means it is the official season for white shoes. Mine get used all year around but now especially they will be starting to rack up some heavy mileage. So… it’s time to take them out of storage but they do not look as good as you remembered? Before you jet off to the store for a new pair take a moment to revive some life back into them.

So… you hate your job. |Fighting for ME

Through the ages we are constantly quizzed on who we are and what we long to become, but it all halts after a couple decades. It then becomes this daunting anxious energy of if I see this or that person will they ask the question? Often, I fall into this pit too wondering when I go places who will ask me, what is your job? Something so simple yet it can change the way you feel about yourself and sadly how you view others subconsciously.
It’s as if once you graduate there is this timer, where if you do not complete the mission in 0 to 60 you’ve failed.

Draw Organizers DIY| Recycled Materials

LRM_EXPORT_49550287497205_20200122_123301269.jpeg

Organizing is a passion of mine and yet even this drawer always ends up a jumbled up mess. Over and over I have tidied it up but it never seems to last long. While there are drawer organizers you can purchase they tend to be pricey and never fully utilize all the purposes that you need them to. Instead of running off to the store and buying a drawer organizer to fit some of the stuff, I decided to try to make my own for free. Yes free!  All of the materials I used were old boxes that would have been thrown in the recycle bin and the tools were literally already in the drawer.

Materials:

  • Cardboard Boxes
  • A Pen
  • Scissors
  • Handheld Stapler or Tape
