Thread Wars: Sulky vs New Brothread

Starting a new hobby always adds up fast and embroidery is definitely not an exception which is why when I first ordered my machine I sought out a cheaper thread alternative. Popular thread brands add up way too fast but is it really something to skimp out on? Well today I finally decided it was time to do a THREAD WAR and purchase one of the most popular craft store threads for embroidery, Sulky, and see if it is worth the hefty price tag.

Etsy Photo Error Fix & Opening a Shop

When it comes to the question what is my dream job it has always encompassed two things, fashion and creating which is why I finally took the plunge and opened up an Esty shop!!! No, I am not hoping for overnight success but the ultimate goal is earning enough to support myself and my family one day. I like the freedom creating gives me and to be honest I’ve always fancied what goes on the item rather than making the actual item from 100% scratch. It’s an amazing feeling knowing that someone is enjoying and creating memories in something you designed.

Fix Bobbin Errors on Brother PE550d

Throughout my embroidery journey there has been many struggles, some I have shared others I have not, simply due to if I have found a solution or not. No, this is not a post ranting about the machine however, I must state that the customer service for Brother has not made a good impression thus far. When I first started having issues with my bobbin thread showing up on the top side I read the manual for quick fixes and then reached out to their service department with a photo and description of the issue. All I was given was links to their FAQ section. After three attempts to get a real solution I was then directed to find a service department to take the machine in to be properly looked at. FRUSTRATING.

Embroidery Files 101

Prior to purchasing an embroidery machine for the first time I had little knowledge as to how it worked including the file capability side. All I kept reading is that it was a learning curve which is why I have been and will continue to update you all as I learn more about the machine embroidery world. Hopefully you are learning from my mistakes or basking in the humorous side of all my mistakes and frustrations, either way here we go again.

Engraving VS Debossing on Faux Suede

Little kids are engraved to challenge the word no, often it is for their own safety but when you get older it is often the best discoveries that come from pushing the boundaries. For instance, crafting, some of the best projects are made when you “break the rules” so of course today we are going to do just that. After purchasing some faux suede I realized that it really is only compatible with simple cut projects but I had other hopes so instead of throwing it to the back of the closet for a someday project I decided to ignore the recommendations and try it anyway.

Crutch Pads DIY| Beginner Sewing

Similar to previous d.i.y. projects this one was inspired by pure practicality. Before diving in let me first tell you how I got myself into this lovely situation. There is no proper satisfying story you know the ones where someone does something epically stupid. I simply walked right into this one, literally. That early morning the alarm demands attention, just a quick stretch right? Ehh… I fell asleep in childs pose which caused both my feet to go completely nomb not the regular pins and needle numb, the my feet feel like bricks of giant blubber numb. It is a weird feeling for those who have not had the pleasure first hand. Walk it off right…? WRONG. I made it maybe three steps before stepping on my toes, yes, my toes, with the same foot. This caused me to obviously twist my ankle in and something popped initially it was painful but I thought surely, I had just rolled my ankle.

Finding Relaxation During Lockdown

While the world seemed to be on the edge of coming around to somewhat of a new “normal” the brakes have screeched yet again. Could it be time to accept that this is the norm now, wearing masks and getting dirty looks whenever choking in public? Please tell me I’m not the only one who has noticed this happening or had it happen to yourself. Needless to say the stressful times are far from over.

So… you hate your job. |Fighting for ME

Through the ages we are constantly quizzed on who we are and what we long to become, but it all halts after a couple decades. It then becomes this daunting anxious energy of if I see this or that person will they ask the question? Often, I fall into this pit too wondering when I go places who will ask me, what is your job? Something so simple yet it can change the way you feel about yourself and sadly how you view others subconsciously.
It’s as if once you graduate there is this timer, where if you do not complete the mission in 0 to 60 you’ve failed.
