Hopefully you all are off to a grand start for the NEW YEAR! For my first post in 2022, I am highlighting a project I did in 2021 because it seemed odd to post in the middle of the holiday season. Normally I would cascade over the fact that it was an earlier project however, it does have the year encompassed in it so there is no escaping it. This was one of those oh… it’ll be easy projects that turned into a bit of a headache.
Little kids are engraved to challenge the word no, often it is for their own safety but when you get older it is often the best discoveries that come from pushing the boundaries. For instance, crafting, some of the best projects are made when you “break the rules” so of course today we are going to do just that. After purchasing some faux suede I realized that it really is only compatible with simple cut projects but I had other hopes so instead of throwing it to the back of the closet for a someday project I decided to ignore the recommendations and try it anyway.
Halloween is a time of creative freedom but this year is a little well very different. Same may say it is making this time grim, however, I challenge you to try to see a different perspective. For instance, wearing a face mask can add to your costume rather than hinder it. In past years you’d paint your face, this year all you need to do is decorate a mask saving time and well the itchiness from paint on your face. On another note for obvious reasons most workplaces prohibit employees from coming to work with a painted face or full covered mask. A face mask opens up the possibilities for me this year which is why I decided to create this d.i.y. specifically. Not going to work? Well wear it out for errands or around the house to spark a little joy to those around you and yourself. A cluttered space is a stressful space especially when it comes to the craft room. When there isn’t an organizational system in place it can be frustrating and take up valuable crafting time. It may even cause you to double buy since you cannot find it, thus it is costing you money as well to have a cluttered craft area. After weeks of debate I have decided to share my Cricut unboxing with you all. Why did it take so long to decide? Well to be I forgot my camera when I went to film at my moms house, where the package was delivered, and I am not very pleased with the quality. During the holidays, I received a Cricut Explore Air 2, which still seems surreal. As a craft lover I thought it would be the perfect addition to bring me to the next level of crafting in 2020. Before I even knew I had one, I would watch endless playlists of Cricut tutorials, Cricut tips, and all of those time trap ones that keep you hooked, thinking the entire time how did they do that. Plus, they all make it look so easy so of course naturally I thought once I get mine it’ll be just as simple.
