“Me Time” Fitness

After missing a couple of posts this month, I decided it was time to evaluate my psychological and physical health. The two are a couple holding hands but when one is without the other things get rocky. When physical health is abandoned eventually psychological health starts to fall apart. It is important to remember to take time for yourself no matter how daunting your checklist is. I fall prey to this easily and pay for it every time.

At the beginning of the semester I made the commitment to make this a priority, by enrolling in two activity courses. This forces me to work out at least three times a week, however, I am realizing that it is not enough. I also need alone time to dance in the mirror, do an actual workout, and meditate. For “real” workouts I have been using Julian Michaels app which gets me sweating in just 5 minutes. I try to do at least two sections, cardio and a focus group with the free version of the app. After this I will continue exercises for the focus group if I wish or stretch for an additional 15minutes or more.

Prior to this I would do Blogilates, Sugarysixpack or Kayla Itsines workouts, and I am still a big fan of all of them. When I catch myself saying I do not have time to workout, I find myself reaching for my phone to use Julian’s app. It is fast, effective and makes me feel empowered. I highly recommend it if you find yourself in a similar situation or are looking for a new workout plan. There are plans to buy in the app as well, however, I have not ventured into these yet.
