Printable Wristbands DIY

Kids are known for forgetting to give parents school flyers/ reminders so here is a diy for teachers who want the information to actually get to parents. These bracelets are not only fun colors but also customizable with a printer. Similar to a festival, concert or fair wristband, they are easy to put on and require being cut off. For this specific project, I customized the bracelets for my husband’s school for a back to school night reminder. The kids were ecstatic to get their bracelet put on because it was something new and different thus creating more of a hype to share when they got home. This project could be used for field trip groups, various events and even birthday parties. You can put anything on them! Printing is the only tricky part but if you pay close attention to the tutorial it is a piece of cake. I ruined about four sheets from simply not changing the paper size which was annoying. Remember to be patient with yourself!

Custom Wedding Invitations DIY

While it may seem daunting to create your own wedding invitations from scratch, the process was actually pretty fun. The ordering process as mentioned in a previous post was the most stressful thing because not many places allow you to upload invitations to be printed. My recommendation would be to use a local shop and save yourself the headache or use Shutterfly. Prior to ordering anything create a template mock up of all the elements of the invitation. For ours, the elements included the base invite, a recipe card, rsvp card, a belly band, glitter ribbon and a sticker. When using multiple pieces it is sometimes hard to envision the full look so make sure not to skip this step. I ended up changing dimensions after creating a mock up since the ones online ended up looking funky when put together.

My First Time | Tutu Edition

Ever since I was little I have been obsessed with ballet. No, I was not a tiny tot in barre classes, in fact my first ballet class wasn’t until college. Once my fiancé gave me Bob (little hippo) I knew he needed a tutu so after watching some tutorial I decided to give it a try. While this technically is not the first tutu I’ve made, it is the first time using this method and on my own. The only other tutu I made was assisting my mom by pulling thread to create endless gathers for a Disneyland run with friends, we vowed never again.

How to Create an Embroidery Frame

During this time of solitude I have taken the time to experiment and take on new crafts, one being hand embroidery. Once I completed my first project I was struck with the realization that my hoop’s life would forever be with this project leaving me to purchase a new one per project. Although it is an esthetic look to use embroidery hoops as frames for decor, I wanted something different. Yes, I could frame is but it often is bulky and pricey. Instead of opting in I headed towards the craft closet and decided on creating an embroidery frame hanger. Switch up the ribbon texture and ties to fit any room’s esthetic. This is a beginner level sewing project that is simple and fast to create.

Card Stash Basics

Who else has a love hate relationship with the rain? I love it when I’m inside but dread it when I am driving or walking in it. Today is one of those days; the wind is howling, sky is roaring and the rain is pouring. While I sip on some cocoa it is relaxing to gaze out the window and take in the trees knowing that in a few short weeks the mass holidays will take place. It’s a time of mourning which I try not to focus on but it is okay to be sad at the fact that this year will undoubtedly be very different. Knowing that loved ones should stay away is a difficult thing to swallow.

Bear Face Mask Tutorial | Cricut

Halloween is a time of creative freedom but this year is a little well very different. Same may say it is making this time grim,  however, I challenge you to try to see a different perspective. For instance, wearing a face mask can add to your costume rather than hinder it. In past years you’d paint your face, this year all you need to do is decorate a mask saving time and well the itchiness from paint on your face. On another note for obvious reasons most workplaces prohibit employees from coming to work with a painted face or full covered mask. A face mask opens up the possibilities for me this year which is why I decided to create this d.i.y. specifically. Not going to work?  Well wear it out for errands or around the house to spark a little joy to those around you and yourself. Below is the full tutorial for part one of the bear costume tutorial, the mask along with written instructions.

Crutch Pads DIY| Beginner Sewing

Similar to previous d.i.y. projects this one was inspired by pure practicality. Before diving in let me first tell you how I got myself into this lovely situation. There is no proper satisfying story you know the ones where someone does something epically stupid. I simply walked right into this one, literally. That early morning the alarm demands attention, just a quick stretch right? Ehh… I fell asleep in childs pose which caused both my feet to go completely nomb not the regular pins and needle numb, the my feet feel like bricks of giant blubber numb. It is a weird feeling for those who have not had the pleasure first hand. Walk it off right…? WRONG. I made it maybe three steps before stepping on my toes, yes, my toes, with the same foot. This caused me to obviously twist my ankle in and something popped initially it was painful but I thought surely, I had just rolled my ankle.

Paint with Me | Natural Bliss

Throughout this project/ piece of art, life has drastically turned, which is crazy to think about. When I first started this project, we were not on lockdown and people were not going crazier than normal. Let’s be honest, people were crazy before, there just weren’t as many people as there currently are. No, I am not going to be talking about my opinion on any of the issues that are consuming what we used to call the “normal” day to day. Just a quick side note to respect each other in terms of space and tongue. If you cannot spread anything positive do not say anything.
