New Hobbies & Handmade Christmas Gifts

For the holidays I had a lot of content planned and per usual they fell short. I could say I was too busy, however that was not the case. For some reason my mind gets stuck on certain projects and it is hard for me to pivot before they are 100% complete. Bouncing back and fourth has never been a strong suit of mine and is something I need to work on.

So… instead of creating a half hearted holiday post, I wanted to share a project I actually worked on for a Christmas gift this year. Although I cannot share the pattern with you as it is not my own and not available online, I thought it would be fun to watch me work through the project in a sort of time lapsed video with some holiday instrumental music. I tend to like watching people work on projects this time of year so hopefully you all will too.

Crochet is a new hobby I have picked up and am just now starting to fall completely in love with it. If you have been wanting to pick up a new craft I highly recommend crochet, it’s relaxing and fun to create something out of a little ball of yarn. Plus, unlike machine embroidery it is something that can be done anywhere and travels easily. No inconveniencing the house with loud noises of machines either. Yes, it can be frustrating to try new crafts but it is also part of the fun of learning new ways to be creative. There are so many stitches and I am by no means an expert, so go easy on me if you do crochet as I am still very much a newbie.

Did you make any Christmas gifts this year? If so I’d love to hear all about them.

Fabric Haul: Scraps and ALL

The candy store otherwise known as the fabric store is my kryptonite. I love looking up and down the aisles for unique prints and characters. Although I often purchase fabric with the intention of a project there are those spur of the moment deals that I cannot pass up. If you see it, you like it, you best get it while you can. Yes, there are those fabrics that will always be in stock but there are also some that are rare gems. For example, rummaging through the clearance fabric there are items that will not come back to the shelf. Needless to say I have accumulated a lot of fabric over the past few years.

After editing this video I’ve come to the conclusion that I really should pause on buying anymore and instead use up what I have. In order to accomplish this I shouldn’t even browse but I’ll let ya’ll know if I cave in and splurge on something new. Prior to editing I was going to share what my intentions were for each piece of fabric from pajama sets to blankets, however, I underestimated how much I had and it became a bit out of control. If you are curious on a particular scrap project and want to know what I made with it let me know and I would be more than happy to share with you. I hope you all enjoy peeking at my stash and let me know which fabric is your fabric from my collection. Of course if you have any crafty or content ideas please also leave me a comment. (:

Christmas Budget

Costco Haul & Review-11

The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year but they can also wear out your credit card. Don’t want to be greeted with a bill in the new year? Follow my guide to holiday shopping.

  1. Homework.

Yes, if you want to save money it will require some work and a little time. Don’t worry, I am not talking about making your gifts with things around the house. Create a list of every person you want to give a gift to. Figure out a specific dollar amount that is practical to spend overall, this will be the maximum amount of money you CAN afford to spend. Either divide up the budget evenly or create specific mini budgets for each person.

Costco Clothing |Review & Haul

Recently, I have been obsessed with shopping the clothing section at Costco. The deals are unbelievable but what about the quality overall? Whenever you shop no matter what the price tag says, there are a few things to check to make sure the tag matches the item’s quality worth. The type of material, origin it was made in, stitching and dying process all contribute to the actual garment’s quality rather than just paying for the brand itself.

Easy Curly Hair Hairstyles

As a member of the curly hair club I wanted to share with you five trendy hairstyles. These will all work no matter what your hair type is however, I am trying them all out on my natural curly hair. All of these styles were experimented on day two hair. Dirty hair is easier to work with than day one when it comes to styling at least. All of these looks are practical since each one keeps your hair out of your face while still being effortlessly on trend.

Ultimate Stain Remover Test| Grandma’s Spot Remover

Throughout the years I have suffered the loss of beloved pieces in my wardrobe to stubborn stains that seem to pop out of nowhere. The most tragic spill I endured was not even my fault, which makes it even more obnoxious to relive. It was freshman year, I had just received a two piece set from the Avril Lavigne collection at Kohl’s in collaboration with Alice and Wonderland. Of course, it was a white set with thin black stripes, chains on the pocket, and suspender shorts too. We did not even make it through first period together before the girl behind me somehow managed to spill her hot tea all over me, ruining the set forever. The rest of the day I sported the upmost fashionable grey and black p.e. uniform. After trying multiple stain removers, it was time to lay the best two set piece to rest.

Weekend Adventures |GRWM

This past weekend was packed with events and festivals. Instead of just telling you I figured it would be fun to show you all as well with a vlog below. This way you can watch my natural makeup routine as well as laugh along with me as I try to choose an outfit. Anyone else ever have a slip mishap? ha. *Pro tip… always measure how long you need a slip to be prior to ordering it.
