Previously I stated that it was impossible to use a multi position hoop to create appliqués. The more time I spend working with my embroidery machine the more I realize the only limitations seem to be solely based in my mind. Why not try something first rather than shutting it down?
Before anyone gets their hopes up, let me first express that in order to split files for appliqués you do need to purchase the advanced version of the Embrilliance software. The price is well worth it, if you want to expand your working field. Embrilliance Essentials has been the best thing to up my embroidery game, you can split files, add multiple files together, add text and more. No, this is not sponsored by any means. I purchased the software on my own and do not get commission for promoting their products.
For this particular project I was skeptical if the software would even allow split embroidery on appliqués. That being said it is possible and basically the same process as any other multi position file. However, I did create a step by step tutorial below on how to create a multi position appliqué file.
Other tips included in the tutorial are how to remove the black basting stitch layer, prior to embroidering. I also speak on the difference between a stitch file and working file. If you have any other questions regarding this project or others let me know.
