Lorcana Unboxing Ursala’s Return & First Chapter

Switching up things a little because I have recently fallen into the world of card games. Loracana is my very first one and it has been almost a month and a half since my husband and I started playing. I love Disney and watching these types of unboxing mystery pack videos, so with the new expansion out, I thought I would make one of my own. This is set number four, Usala’s Return, which we preordered at our favorite game store, as items from the set are selling out fast. Items from this set are already selling for twice as much as they retail, if not more. On ebay the Illuminaires Quest game was selling for $7,000 which is insane! With a stroke of pure luck we were able to secure one, however, with their current market value I am having mixed feelings about opening it. Currently it is on pre order until the set comes out to major retailers on the 31st of May, which is where we ended up finding one.

Although new additions to the game are always fun, I was a little bit disappointed that there were not more new characters. In the future I hope to see an expansion of characters rather than the same ones in each set. Another thing that baffled me was that the boxes for the set did not have an Ursala option. For instance, adding in Pixar characters would be fun or more characters from series that have already been out. A Heffalump and Woozles card would be adorable. From this particular set I tried to stay away from all of the spoiler sites that released the cards early but still somewhat peeked. The first card I saw from the set was the baby Pegasus and the graphic stole my heart so it was the main card I wanted from the box. My husband on the other hand was looking for the young Hercules red card.

If you are a reseller the packs tend to sell more unopened since card prices for Loracana fluctuate based on decks that are being used at the time for competitions as well as other factors. I went ahead and did the math and our box while still a great value would not get us our money back opened. The box cost was the same price as the boosters themselves and three additional dollars for the box, dice, dividers and lore counter. Love the box as a collectors piece to organize all our cards plus the dice are really pretty to use for game play. It is all the luck of the draw and this time we just were not lucky enough to grab those crazy sought after cards. Who knows in a couple of months the cards we pulled pay double once they are harder to find. That being said I would recommend the box for fellow players who are looking to expand their set and want some extra goodies.  If you play Lorcana what is your favorite card from this new set?

Watch the video below to see what we pulled, we even opened up some more booster packs from the First Chapter! Luckily they restocked them at our game shop because the mark up online is no joke.
