When using an embroidery file one thing among many I look for is how many times I have to change my thread. If you have a multi-needle machine this is not even on your radar but some of us are still struggling. One of the perks of Embrilliance essentials is being able to switch up the order of each color/ section of embroidery.
The last file I downloaded and tried used two colors but split them up into four sections which meant switching threads not once but three times. I’m puzzled as to why they would create the file like that. Luckily, with the software I use it is an easy thing to change. Once you open the file, click on the small arrow on the right hand side. This will open up the layers panel showing you what gets stitched out first and so on. To change the order simply right click on the layer you want to change. Options will appear to move the file earlier or later thus moving it upwards one spot or backward one spot.
